Factory or OEM hardware refers to the original equipment, in this case the frame and bows, that are installed on the jeep at the factory. The frame and bows give the soft top shape and support, and allow it to be folded. The original hardware is provided to Daimler/Chrysler by Bestop™ for all Jeep Wranglers that are produced with soft tops. Factory hardware is important when ordering a Bestop Replacement Top (Rep-A-Top) for your Jeep, because the Rep-A-Top utilizes the factory provided frame and bows. To help you with determining if you have the original factory hardware, we have provided pictures below. If your set-up doesn't match the pictures below, then you more than likely have an aftermarket soft top frame such as a Supertop™ by Bestop or some other lessor brand of aftermarket top.
