Lifted Jeep

A lifted jeep is a Jeep that's been lifted to achieve greater ground clearance. A greater ground clearance is more important for people who take their Jeeps off-road than it is for drivers who stick to city driving. A greater ground clearance means you can take your Jeep into even rougher terrain, including up stony mountains, down steep slopes, into deep mud, over deep snow, and even into rivers and shallow, standing water. A lifted jeep is sought out by people who enjoy off-roading, and it can be one of the first modifications or customizations made to the Jeep.
There are two ways to lift a vehicle. The lifted jeep is typically lifted by modifications to the suspension. Another easy way to get more ground clearance is with bigger tires. Despite the attraction of the lifted jeep, it is not entirely without danger. If you do have a lifted jeep, you should invest in a roll bar or a roll cage for your Jeep. This is an easy modification, especially if you just use a roll bar. The reason you should install a roll bar is that a lifted jeep has a higher center of gravity. Because of the higher center of gravity, there's a greater chance of the Jeep tipping or rolling while off-roading.
Whenever you make any modification to your Jeep, you should consider how that changes the way the Jeep handles, and also how safe the Jeep is. If it affects either of those things in a serious way, consider what other modifications are necessary to make the Jeep safe.
